Lucy Ilene Simons Cutler

Our sweet mother and grandmother, Lucy Cutler, passed away peacefully August 2, 2024, after a heroic battle with systemic sclerosis. She was 72. Born in Salt Lake City, UT to Robert Donely Simons and Lucy Elaine Vincent, Lucy was the second oldest of five children. She was a happy, easy-going child that loved catching lizards and playing kick the can with neighborhood friends. Lucy too was her father's favorite fishing buddy and her mother's helper by looking after her younger siblings.

Lucy graduated from Orem High School in 1970 and went to vocational school following graduation. She worked for various corporate agencies for over 35 years, including the Signetics Corporation in Orem, UT for 20 years. Lucy supported her family financially throughout her life.

Lucy married Stephen John Cutler in 1977 and had twin girls, Jennifer Lucille Cutler and Kimberly Elaine Cutler Johnson (Adam) in 1979. Her twin girls were her everything and she gave them unconditional love throughout her life. Lucy's grandchildren, Alexandra Lucy and Samantha Rae Johnson, received endless love from Grammy Lucy as she gave them countless time and attention.

Our mother belonged to a quilt group and was an exceptional seamstress making beautiful quilts for her daughters, grandchildren and friends. She enjoyed reading and was a true Harry Potter fan. Lucy loved the simple things in life- chocolate, flowers, ladybugs, hummingbirds and dogs- of course!

It is with great sadness that we have to say goodbye to our mom, our Grammy Lucy, but she will live forever in our hearts and memories. We love you and will miss you forever!

Join us for a gravesite service provided at Orem City Cemetery on Friday, August 9th, 2024 at 2:00PM. Services at the cemetery will be provided by Walker-Sanderson Funeral Home.
