Deann Rowley Harris

Oh, how she filled those four feet and eight inches with the best hugs, the best laughter, and the best spirit.

Our loving mother, Lucy Deann Rowley Harris, age 79, of Santaquin, Utah, returned to her Heavenly Father on September 15th, 2026. Deann was born to Albert Marvin Rowley and Lucy Lavern Prestwich, on October 26th, 1946, in Provo, Utah. 

Deann was one of four children, having two older brothers, Albert and Vern, and one younger sister, Jeana. She was raised among the orchards of Orem, where she could often be found getting into mischief with her cousins who lived nearby. 

Deann married the love of her life, Wayne Harris, on July 10th, 1963, in the Salt Lake City Temple. Wayne preceded her in death, and we find comfort knowing they are reunited. Deann and Wayne had three children, Terri (Glenn), Stephen (Maurina), and Amy (Allen). They were blessed with 11 grandchildren, 31 great-grandchildren, and many others who became family along the way. Deann was preceded in death by her parents, her brother Albert, and son-in-law Ted.

Standing at four feet eight inches at the time of her passing, Deann maintained claim to the title of tallest kid in third grade… Oh, how she filled those four feet and eight inches with the best hugs, the best laughter, and the best spirit. Deann’s love for others meant she naturally pursued activities which involved them. She loved sunshine and being outdoors - especially camping and fishing. As an avid bowler, Deann became a lifetime member of the Orem Women’s Bowling Association. She also spent a decade as the owner of TLC greenhouses, sharing her love of flowers with those around her. Deann was the biggest cheerleader for her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, who brought her immense joy; she could often be found (and heard) on the sidelines of their various sports or spending cherished time playing cards and dice with them. Her love also showed up at the dinner table, where all were welcomed and fed - she never met a person she didn’t love deeply. Later in life, her love of sunshine took Deann and her sweetheart to Arizona, where they became snowbirds of Overton, then Quartzite, returning to their Santaquin, Utah home during the summer months. Deann was a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, with a strong testimony of her Savior, Jesus Christ, and knowledge of her Heavenly Father’s love.

Deann was the biggest cheerleader for her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, who brought her immense joy.

A viewing will be held on Sunday, September 20th, 2026, from 6:00-8:00 pm at Walker Sanderson Funeral Home, 646 E 800 N, Orem, Utah. Funeral services are scheduled for Monday September 21st, 2026, at 11:00 am at Sharon Fourth Ward, 430 S 700 E, Orem, Utah. A viewing will be held prior to the service from 9:30-10:30 am at the church. Burial will follow at Orem City Cemetery.
