Obituary

The world lost an angel of a lady when Lynda Kynaston left us on the night of January 27th. Clement (Ike) & Venice Ercanbrack welcomed their beautiful daughter Lynda to their family on July 31, 1941 in Provo Utah. Lynda was the fourth of six siblings, one of five girls and a brother. Growing up in the farming community of Orem, Lynda learned the values of hard work & family at a young age. She loved her parents dearly. Lynda and her siblings maintained loving and close relationships throughout her life. In 1957 Lynda met a tall handsome young man by the name of Eugene Kynaston (Lank) while attending Orem High school. They fell in love and remained a love story for over 65 years. While at Orem High Lynda & Lank made many close friendships that have lasted over 65 years. If you were a friend of Lynda's you were a friend for life. Lynda & Lank were married on May 13, 1959. Shortly thereafter they settled in Midvale Utah where they built their family home on Wood Street. Three children who would know unconditional love followed with the arrivals of Shane, Kirsten & Nakole. Wood Street is also where Lynda's Stylette was created. For over 50 years Lynda's Stylette was a staple of the Midvale community. Generations of ladies came to Lynda's to look their best and catch up on the latest with neighbors & friends. Although Lynda was a tireless worker her family and having good times were equally important. Many memories were created with winters spent snowmobiling & camping at the cabin. Summers were spent with many long weekends at Lake Powell. Many family traditions ensued with elaborate birthday parties, the best Christmas Eve seafood dinner known to man and epic scavenger hunts that became popular once grandkids came along. Later in life Lynda & Lank discovered the great game of golf. They played many rounds together and with friends all over the Wasatch Front and Saint George. Lynda & Lank kept a second home in Saint George for many years as their family grew with the addition of six grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. Family was everything to Lynda & her and Lank never missed the opportunity to attend their grandkids games, recitals, concerts, etc. After the grand kids graduated Lynda somewhat reluctantly agreed to retire Lynda's Stylette and move permanently to Saint George where her and Lank could play more golf attend plays at Tuacahn Amphitheatre and enjoy the sunshine. Unfortunately, in the fall of 2017 Lynda was diagnosed with stage 4 Non-small-cell lung cancer. The doctors advised her to get her affairs in order. The doctors didn't know Lynda. Aside from being a fierce lover of those she loved she was also a fighter who loved life. Her daughter Kirsten convinced her and Lank to consider alternative treatment in Mexico where she spent two months and kicked cancers butt. She returned home to Saint George where she continued her treatment at St George Cancer Center. This determination and fight allowed Lynda & Lank to spend another four years enjoying the desert sunshine, plays & many more rounds of golf including as recently as January 12th. Lynda had an amazing life. Hers & Lanks was a love story for the ages. She loved her family & friends dearly. All of her children, their spouses, and the grand kids each felt they were her favorite. Lynda is survived by her husband Eugene "Lank" Kynaston; children, Shane Kynaston, Kirsten Lovato (Nick) NaKole Mellor (Jim); Grandchildren Colton Kynaston (Mary), Savannah Kynaston, Beau Lovato, Maleek Mellor, Mia Mellor, Ike Lovato, and Great Grandchildren Matai and Reign Kynaston.
