He served a mission in the West Central States 1951-53. They were married in the Salt Lake Temple August 27, 1954. He was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and the father of 4 children. They raised their family in Anaheim, California, where he was active in the community as president of the Anaheim Rotary Club, Anaheim Family Y.M.C.A., on the Board of Directors for the Speech & Language Center and a member of the Boy Scout Council. He also served in many leadership callings in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints including 2 bishoprics, 2 High Councils and as a counselor in the California South Mission 1966-69 (now the Anaheim California Mission) and president of two missions, the Illinois Nauvoo Mission 1985-87 and the New Hampshire Manchester Mission 1987-89. After their mission president callings, they made their home in Provo, Utah, where he served on the high council of the B.Y.U. 5th Stake and at the Missionary Training Center as a branch president and district president 1989-96. He then served as a Church Service Missionary in both the Missionary Department and the Real Estate Department of the Church in Salt Lake City for 4 years. He served in the Los Angeles Temple while living in California and the Provo Temple in Utah for a total of 17 years.

Lynn found great satisfaction in his life work as a Real Estate Broker and Developer in California and in Utah. He enjoyed developing land for building projects and building custom homes and office buildings of a particular style. He won many awards from the City of Anaheim for the and quality and beauty of his projects. His projects in Utah were twin homes, Normandy Village, and student condos. Lynn's hobby in his retiring years was building remote control airplanes (one with a 9-foot wingspan) which he thoroughly enjoyed.
