IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Makiya Jayne
Farley
April 19, 2004 – June 11, 2025
On June 11, 2025, after a courageous battle with health challenges, Makiya Jayne Farley was finally set free from her pain and struggles. Though her time with us was far too short, her strength, grace, and unshakable spirit continue to inspire all who knew and loved her.
Born on April 19, 2004, in Orem, Utah, Makiya remained close to home her entire life, where she built deep and lasting connections with her family and friends. Family was everything to Makiya — she spent most of her time surrounded by those she loved, including her brother, two sisters, and a large crew of cousins she delighted in teasing, scaring, and lovingly tormenting at every opportunity.
In 2021, Makiya proudly took on her favorite role yet: Aunt Ky Ky. Her nephew Blake instantly became the center of her universe, and the bond they shared brought her endless joy and purpose.
Makiya had a deep love for learning and, despite facing many challenges, she graduated high school with honors — a milestone she celebrated with enough enthusiasm to fill several graduation parties. She wore that achievement like a badge of honor, and rightfully so.
Makiya was our warrior — resilient, brave, and full of heart. She had a passion for helping others, and despite her own battles, she found deep fulfillment working with her special needs clients. Her compassion, patience, and sense of humor made her a bright light in the lives of those she served.
She was also a proud fur mama to her beloved pets: Snoop, Dre, Eminem, and Giz — her loyal companions who offered comfort, chaos, and unconditional love through the hardest times. They kept her grounded and brought smiles even on the toughest days.
Makiya is survived by her fur babies; her loving parents, Jayme (Paul) Fox and Matthew (Kenzie) Casper; her siblings, Justin (Dasha), Lexi, and Taylar; her cherished nephew Blake; her grandparents Larry and Jayne Farley, Parry and Diane Casper, and Shawn and Annette Fox; and many beloved aunts, uncles, and cousins.
She is preceded in death by her dear Aunt Heather.
Makiya was a beautiful soul — fierce, funny, loving, and unforgettable. She will be missed more than words can express, but her spirit will live on in the laughter she sparked, the lives she touched, and the love she so freely gave.
