Our wonderful husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, uncle, cousin, friend, and husband Malden "Chris" Miller, 84, passed away on December 26th, 2018. Chris was born April 1st, 1934 in Newton, Utah to Conrad Lorenzo Miller and Eva Atkinson Miller.
Chris grew up in Newton, Utah with his four brothers and three sisters. He was a scout and loved camping, hunting, and fishing. He graduated from North Cache High School and was a star on the football team. After graduation, he was in the navy for four years.
When he returned from the military, he met Alberta "Carolynn" Adams in Salt Lake City. It was love at first sight at the roller skating rink.
Once they began talking they never stopped. They were married on November 15th, 1956 and moved to California where their only son, Danny, was born. Shortly after, they moved back to Midway, Utah. It was there that three daughters Tammy, Vickie, and Julie blessed their family.
Dad instilled his love of hard work and the outdoors into his children as they ran a dairy farm together. Later, the family also moved to Nevada, Granger, and eventually Orem where Chris worked as an appliance technician.
On September 3rd, 1966, they were sealed as a family for time and all eternity in the Salt Lake City Temple.
Dad was kind, driven, and charitable with a no-nonsense attitude. He taught his children to be true and faithful, to live the gospel, and set high standards of success.
He was a dedicated family man who loved his wife and children more than anything and was a great example to them. He always worked hard to provide for them and loved spending time with them. He had great relationships with his brothers and sisters. He loved his grand children. He loved hunting with his son, grandsons, brothers, and nephews in the mountains of Utah. He loved to camp with the entire extended family and he spent many summers in his RV as a member of the Good Sam's Club. He also loved reading and working with his hands.
He was a dedicated man to the gospel of Jesus Christ and a faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. He served in many positions in the church from Cub Master, Elders Quorum Counselor, High Priest Group Leader, and enjoyed being a full-time missionary at the Salt Lake Temple Square mission with his eternal companion.
After his wife Carolynn passed away, he was blessed to have Lynda Jane Hegarty enter his life. They were married on July 9th, 2009 and Dad enjoyed his last years on earth with her as his wife.
We love you dad and appreciate the life and legacy you have left us! You will be missed until we meet, again!
He is survived by his wife, Lynda Jane Hegarty Miller, sister, Kathryn Bourne (DeWayne) and brother, Ellis (Marcia) Miller, children, Danny Malden (Becky Christiansen) Miller, Tammy Miller Hansen (Lynn), Vickie Lynn Miller Wood (Shane), Julie Ann Miller Thormodsen (Erik), fourteen grandchildren, ten great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
