Marilyn Mathis Kerekes was born on February 1, 1955 in Carbon County, Price, Utah to Idona and Arnold Mathis. Marilyn was the 3rd of seven children. She attended Carbon High School in Price, Utah, graduating in 1973. She passed away February 19, 2018 in Orem, Utah. Marilyn attended both CEU and BYU where she ultimately found the love of her life John Kerekes. They were sealed together for time and all eternity in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Salt Lake City temple on September 3, 1976. Together they raised four children in Orem, Utah. Marilyn always had a fascination for music and the arts. She was a wonderful soloist and pianist and loved to perform her talents for others. She had a wonderful sense of humor and could light up a room. She loved her kids and grandchildren and always encouraged them to do their best and work hard. She was a very giving person and an example of how to serve others. Marilyn is survived by her husband, John and her four children; Jennifer (Ryan) Labrum, Ryan (Britney) Kerekes, Kathryn (Reed) Seamons, and Jaclyn (Brandon) Dickinson. Grandchildren Landon Labrum, Addison Labrum, McKinley Labrum, Blake Labrum, Luke Labrum, Jaxon Kerekes, Ryker Kerekes, Koby Kerekes, Quincy Kerekes, Brynley Seamons, Kendall Seamons, Owen Seamons, Reese Dickinson, and Emery Dickinson. To celebrate her legacy and life, funeral services will be held Friday, February 23, 2018, 11:00 am at the Stonewood First Ward, 575 South 400 West, Orem, Utah where a viewing will be held 9:30-10:45 a.m. prior to services.
