Mark Rolla Facer died peacefully at home in Provo Utah on October 23, 2019 at the age of 87 surrounded by his family.
Mark is survived by his children Mark Facer, William Facer, Burnett Facer, Shannon Facer, James Facer, Keith Facer, Lucille Facer, David Facer and Amanda Olsen as well as numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his wife Dixie Mae Facer and son Jeffrey Martin Facer.
Mark was born on November 14, 1931 in Holbrook, Idaho to Moyle Emerson Facer and Elizabeth Fannie Burnett. He served a church mission in Northern California and served his country at the end of the Korean War. He held many positions in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and dedicated his life to the service of others. He married Dixie Mae Shoemaker on June 8, 1953 in the Logan Temple and thereafter had 10 children.
Together this beautiful couple raised their large family in California. Mark earned his doctorate in Education with a successful career in education administration. He was dedicated to educating and uplifting his fellows along the way.
Mark and Dixie later retired in Provo, Utah to be close to family and grandchildren. After retirement they served two church missions in Africa and one in Romania along with two service missions stateside. Mark's love for the Lord and fellow man has been a gift to so many who were blessed to know him. Together Mark and Dixie were an amazing example of a life of service to God and will now be laid to rest side by side at the East Lawn Memorial Hills.
