Obituary

Martha Larsen Manning July 2, 1961 – March 8, 2022 It is with great sorrow that I announce the passing of my loving wife, a brilliant star from our sky. Martha Lucile Larsen Manning left us on Tuesday, March 8, 2022 after holding death at bay for many years with her love for life and the force of her indomitable spirit. Martha was born July 2, 1961 in Provo to Earle S. Larsen Sr. and Geraldine "Gerry" Neilson Larsen. During her early life she lived in Utah and California, but she always called Prescott, Arizona her hometown. Martha loved animals and not only gathered dogs, cats and parakeets, she also enjoyed her father's fun aquariums. She was an active youth and became accomplished at high-jump, tennis and especially volleyball – achieving local notoriety after serving a perfect game. Martha graduated from Orem High School in 1979. She received an Associate's degree from Snow College and her great love of children led her to study to be a teacher at Utah State University. After many years of being an attentive and loving daughter, sister, aunt and friend, she married the love of her life Brian Manning June 6, 2006. They lived in Spanish Fork, UT. Martha worked hard for most of her life – paying her first taxes at age 12. She performed a variety of jobs, making dear friends everywhere she went, until finally retiring from the Utah County Recorder's Office in 2014. Martha was respected by her colleagues for her intelligence, proficiency and professionalism. She was beloved by her friends and family for her genius, creativity and humor. Her smart quips and boisterous laughter were irresistible. Martha's joyful spirit brought a light into this world that touched many lives and her memory continues to warm our hearts. Martha is survived by her husband Brian; siblings Earle S. Larsen Jr., Karol L. Palmer and Genelle L. Pugmire (Daniel) , brother in-law Leon Adams and sister-in-law Sandy Larsen; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was proceeded in death by her parents; brother Jared K. Larsen, sister Leanne L. Adams; brother-in-law Glen O. Palmer and sister-in-law Carolin Larsen. Martha's concern for others in these trying times and her self-deprecating nature led her to request that her services be limited to a small, private graveside service which will be held on Saturday, March 19 at the Orem City Cemetery. She would also request that, in lieu of flowers, donations to your local food bank be made on her behalf.
