Mary Ellen Pawlowski, age 95, of Orem, Utah, passed away October 29, 2022 in Provo, Utah.

She was the daughter of David Elmer and Annie Elizabeth Shepperd Warenski Evans.

She was born May 26, 1927, in Benjamin, Utah, the youngest of seven children.

She attended schools in Pioche, Nevada and Orem, Utah, graduating from Lincoln High School in 1945.

She married Reinhold Karl Pawlowski January 10, 1947 in the Salt Lake Temple. They settled in Orem after her husband graduated from Brigham Young University.

Mary Ellen trained and became licensed as a beautician and kept that license up throughout her entire life. She used that training in raising her four daughters. They always were neat and their hair trimmed beautifully.

Mary Ellen also studied and certified as a librarian but chose to work as a school lunch worker instead as it was a better schedule for her family. She worked for the Alpine School District first at Lincoln Junior High School in Orem, then Lakeridge Junior High also in Orem. She worked many years providing many delicious meals for the Junior High students, her specialty being an expert at making rolls.

When she was not working school lunch, summers were spent picking fruit with her daughters, sorting cherries and working on a mink farm in Lehi. She also enjoyed many vacations with her family. She especially enjoyed Disneyland in California, Yellowstone, Grand Canyon and the beautiful National Parks in Utah.

She was not afraid of work and taught her daughters the same. She enjoyed quilting, crocheting and knitting. She taught her family to "roll with the punches" and taught them by example.

She was a beloved mother, and grandmother and will be greatly missed.

She is preceded in death by her parents, siblings, husband and infant daughter Elena.

She is survived by her daughters, Mary Ann Pawlowski, Taylorsville, Utah, Karlene (Don) Pyne, Orem, Utah, Gayle (Dennis) Giles, South Jordan, Utah, Heidi (Jeff) Smith, Mona, Utah, 13 grandchildren, 41 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great grandchildren.

Visitation will be Monday November 7, 2022 at 9:30 AM at the Hillcrest 2nd Ward located on 1450 South 800 East Orem, Utah. Services will follow at 11:00 AM. Interment to be in Orem City Cemetery next to her beloved "Riny".
