Matthew Wright

March 15th,1960- January 26th,2023

On Thursday, January, 26th, 2023 Matthew Wright, our beloved Father, Grandpa, Brother, and Friend, passed away at 62 after many battles with health complications. Born in Waxahachie, Texas to Earnest Wright and Georgia Wright.

He is preceded in death by his father, his mother, Brother Earnest Jr Wright, Sister Gloria Jean Wright, and Daughter Kimberly Mae Franklin.

Later in life relocating to Oakland California, he fell in love with the Oakland Raiders.. Matthew settled in Salt Lake City, Utah where he joined the National Guard, and after his time in the reserve he began playing basketball, in hopes of one day being a part of his favorite team "The Lakers." Matthew was known for his great sense of humor, he was tenacious, and determined with anything he set out to do. Matthew always enjoyed sports, laughing, music, singing, sunshine, and you could not pull him away from a good bet in Wendover. Matthew always enjoyed the company of his family. He will always be missed and his love will continue to spread through all of us. We know he's in heaven showing off his hooping skills, dance moves, laughing with all his loved ones that departed before him and bowling away the time.. I'm sure he's entertaining The Heavens with his Karaoke songs. We wish we had more time but appreciate the time God allowed us to have. May you shine bright in Heaven as you did on Earth.

Matthew is Survived by sister Georgia Faye Wright, brothers David Lee, Eddie Lee, Dennis Ray, children Kira Marie, Matthew George, Michael Stewart, seven grandchildren, and a host of family and friends.
