Melvin Leroy Abbott was born November 21, 1948 in Ely, Nevada to Charles Abbott and Louise Alberta Hofheins. He married Catherine Hinkins on June 21, 1969 and together they had one daughter, Leslie Ann Abbott Montoya. He was a temple worker and loved John Wayne westerns and Shrek. He passed away on June 3, 2020, at his home in Vineyard, Utah. He was preceded in death by his parents, brother James Abbott, brother George Abbott, and sister Louise Corbett. Melvin is survived by his sister Mary June, daughter Leslie Montoya, stepson Greg Hansen, and step-grandsons Tucker and Owen along with many nieces and nephews.
