Obituary

There are few people that touch our lives in a meaningful way.

Michael "Mikey" Mayer is that special spirit who not only touched the lives of his family and friends, but of all who met him during his lifetime. The best way to describe Mikey was his smile that was infectious, and his spirit that could be felt for days after being in contact with him for just a few minutes. He was the epitome of being a Christ-like person. Even though he was a shy young man, he was the Good Samaritan in modern times. He would go the extra mile to help family, friends, acquaintances, and strangers alike and expect nothing in return. He was a gentle, kind soul and the world is a little less bright without his light.

Michael was a younger brother to two of his siblings but worried about them like an older brother. He was also an older brother to four more siblings. He was always looking out for his brother, sisters, and mother. He made sure they were taken care of, and always wanted them to be happy and loved.

Being a son, brother and good friend were one of his greatest achievements. Also, he truly loved his job and was enthusiastic about going to work.

Michael is survived by his mom, Holly (Brian) Thaxton and his dad, Joshua (Solcire) Mayer; His brother Brody Mayer and His sisters, Michelle (fiancée Erik Neff), Rosie (fiancée Josh Quiroga), Aurora, Luna and Stella Mayer; His stepsisters: Brittney, Brooke, and Brianna Thaxton; His Grandma and step-Grandfather, Shelley and Merrill Black; His Grandpa and step-Grandma, Lyle and Coby Vanderplas Tillett; His Aunts and Uncles: Karen Deem; Gordon (Renee) Tillett; Russell (Mindy) Tillett; Laura (Melvin) Gull; Kristi (Chris) Jones; Jennifer Bybee; Jeremy (Katrina) Mayer, Jason (Liz) Mayer, Jared Mayer, Joe (Jen) Mayer, Jacob (Paige) Mayer, and an abundance of cousins, two nephews, Oliver and Aiden and a niece, Iris and soon, a niece that is on the way (Michelle) who is receiving his snuggles in heaven until it's her time to come.

Michael was 23 at the time of his death. He was born in Payson, Utah on April 7th of 2000, and left for his eternal rest on November 18 of 2023, in Provo, Utah.

A celebration of life will be held on Wednesday, November 22 of 2023, at 11am at the LDS church at 233 East School House Road in Saratoga Springs. There will be a visitation from 10:00 to 10:45 am. Family and friends are invited to briefly share heartwarming and funny stories during an open mic session.

The Pallbearers are Joshua Mayer, Brody Mayer, Brian Thaxton, Gordon Tillett, Erik Neff and Bryan Anderton. Honorary Pallbearers are Lyle Tillett, Merrill Black, Russell Tillett, Jeremy Mayer, Jason Mayer, Jared Mayer, Joe Mayer, Jacob Mayer and Oliver and Aiden Edwards
