Obituary

Mildred A. Scott 1924-2017 On July 18, 2017 our loving, precious 92-year-old Mother, Grandmother and Great Grandmother, Mildred Avery Scott passed away. She was born on October 10, 1924 in Kanosh, Utah to Ethella Foster and John Andy Avery. She attended schools in Kanosh & Fillmore, Utah. When she was 18 she went to Yakima, Washington and married the love of her life, Farrell Morris Scott on October 18, 1942. Farrell was serving in the World War II so she went to live with her mother in Provo, Utah. Upon his return they moved to Greenville, Utah. Then in 1951, they moved to Provo, Utah, where they raised their family of 7 children. She graduate from Beauty school. She was active in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. She served in the Relief Society President, Young woman Beehive leader, camp director and visiting teacher for years. Her hobbies were crocheting, quilting and doing puzzles right up to the last week of her life. Her most important thing of her life was her family. She is survived by 6 of her children, Ron Scott, Val (Becky) Scott, Maureen Davis, Becky (Ed) Daley, Gary (Kelly) Scott and Rex (Jamie) Scott. Her brother, Clair (Carma) Avery. She was proceeded in death by her loving husband, daughter Ruth, her parents and sisters, Jean Tolton, Helen Larsen and Evelyn Hall and brother Lorraine Avery. Her funeral will be on Wednesday, July 26, 2017, 11:00 a.m. in the Manila 8th Ward, 3785 West Box Elder Drive, Cedar Hills, Utah. Prior to the service there will be a viewing between the hours of 9:00 - 10:30 a.m. Interment will be in the American Fork City Cemetery. Condolences may be offered online at WalkerSanderson.com.
