Natalie Hess, 47, passed away at her home on April 17, 2018, after a courageous battle with colon cancer. Natalie was born in Logan, Utah, on July 8, 1970, to Don Glade and Janet Peterson Hess. She attended public schools in Logan and Provo, Utah, and in Blackfoot, Idaho. She graduated from Blackfoot High School in 1988. She graduated in the top ten of her graduating class. She served on the LDS Seminary Council. She was the Blackfoot High School yearbook co-editor. In 1991, she graduated magna cum laude from Brigham Young University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in English. She earned a Juris Doctor degree from J. Reuben Clark Law School. In law school, she won a scholarly writing award. She earned scholarships to B.Y.U. and J. Reuben Clark Law School. She did internships at the court house and at Utah Legal Services. She worked doing legal research and writing. She held many positions in the LDS Church. She loved the Lord. Natalie was an excellent writer. She did research for and wrote a family history book with her sister. She spent thousands of hours doing genealogy research and making family history scrapbooks. She volunteered at Cove Point Assisted Living Center helping residents with family history research. Natalie loved reading and flower gardening. She enjoyed spending time with her family, who adored her. Natalie loved animals. Survivors include her mother, Janet Hess, Provo; one sister, Tiffany Hess, and one brother, David Hess, both of Provo. She is survived by many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. She was preceded in death by her father. The family would like to thank Dr. Nathan Rich, Nancy Mortenson, FNP, ANP, and the nurses and staff at Utah Cancer Specialists. Funeral services will be held Friday, April 27, 2018, at 1:00 p.m. at the Grandview 6 th Ward, 1600 N 1800 W, Provo. Friends and family may call Friday from 11:00 a.m. to 12:45 p.m. at the Grandview 6 th Ward building.
