Neil Leon Roberts, age 90, passed away peacefully among family on Thursday, May 8, 2025 in West Haven, Utah. He was born on December 29, 1934 in Salt Lake City, Utah to Halda Ray and Amy LaVerne (McOmie) Roberts. He married his High School sweetheart Barbara Wiscombe on January 14, 1954 in the Salt Lake City Temple.

Neil grew up in South Orem for most of his life and graduated from Lincoln High School. He was industrious and hard working as a young man and throughout the remainder of his life. Like his father, he enjoyed the sport of baseball both as a player and a spectator. He was an avid fan of science-based and historical documentaries. He enjoyed a variety of classical music and had a beautiful singing voice. He developed an interest in old cars and once owned a Model A and a Model T Ford.

He began his working career at U.S. Steel's Geneva Works in 1955. While employed at Geneva Works, he went on to receive a B.S. degree in Mechanical Engineering and Industrial Management from Brigham Young University. Throughout his continued employment he worked as a General Foreman of Auxiliary Services, Superintendent of Utilities, as well as Division Superintendent over Central Maintenance, Utilities, and Transportation. He retired after 42 years. Following retirement, he and Barbara spent several years working to improve and enjoy their mountain cabin near Fairview, Utah. It was a place where they enjoyed spending time. He also enjoyed giving his time and resources to help others.

Neil is survived by his sister Nancy Garrick of Malta, Idaho and six children, Rodney (JoDene) Roberts, Mark (Julie) Roberts, Susan (Kurt) Jaussi, Michelle Roberts, Steven (Caroline) Roberts, and Bryan (Angie) Roberts. He is also survived by 21 grandchildren and 40 great-grandchildren.

The family wishes to express their many thanks to the entire staff of Belle Vie Hospice and Cogir of Lotus Park Assisted Living and Memory Care facility for their loving care and kindness.

A public viewing will be held on Thursday, May 15, 2025 from 1:00 p.m. to 1:45 p.m. followed the funeral service at 2:00 p.m. at the Walker Sanderson Funeral Home, 646 E. 800 N., Orem, Utah. Burial will immediately follow at the East Lawn Memorial Hills Cemetery, 4800 Timpview Drive, Provo, Utah
