Norma Myrtle Rayl Rock 1923 ~ 2017 Norma Myrtle Rayl Rock, 93, passed away peacefully on Friday, July 21, 2017. She was a true example of enduring to the end. Norma was born October 28, 1923 in Webb City, MO to Lester W. and Edith Callentine Rayl. She married Henry W. Rock on June 1, 1951, in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple. Norma was also a great example of selflessness and service. She was devoted to her family, including her 3 brothers, 5 sisters, seven children (Steven ooo, Dennis, Kevin, David, Shelley, Marlon and Shauna), numerous nieces and nephews, and all of her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Being the oldest daughter, she was very helpful with the younger children. Growing up during the depression, she would earn a little money and give it straight to her mother and father to help provide for the family. She was loving and accepting to all. Norma loved music and was very talented at playing the piano and singing. She was highly intelligent. She loved to read and do crossword puzzles. She seemed to know a little about everything. Family history was a passion of hers. She spent countless hours finding and researching thousands of names. Each of her grandchildren probably thought they were her favorite. She was known to give them 27 cents to go buy penny candies at Scott's grocery store. She loved having family reunions and would have "Grandma's Store" full of treats and goodies for the grandkids to "buy". Norma was a faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She loved the gospel and taught by example. One of her favorite songs was "I Love to Read the Holy Scriptures". She and Henry served a full-time mission together in New York in the family history center. Norma is preceded in death by her husband, Henry W. Rock She is survived by her seven children, and sister Ruth (Ron) Brown. Funeral Services will be Saturday, July 29, 2017, 11:00 a.m. at Walker Sanderson Funeral Home, 646 East 800 North, Orem. Family and friends may visit that morning from 10:00 - 10:45 a.m. at the funeral home. Interment will be in Orem City Cemetery, 1520 North 800 East, Orem.
