IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Pamela Jane
Lutu
August 18, 1957 – December 25, 2023
Pamela Jane Thorpe Lutu passed away on December 25th, 2023, in Provo, Utah. Jane was born August 18, 1957, in Omaha, Nebraska to Dorothy Jean Epperson-Rayburn and Charles Raymond Thorpe. She was the youngest of 9 siblings. Tommy Epperson, Robert Steven Thorpe, Jack, Michael Eugene, Peggy Lynn, Kenneth Albert, Joe Dean, and Linda Jean. She is survived by Peggy, Bob, and Linda.
She was married to Gary Hakeai Lutu. Gary passed away in March of 2023 in Oakland, CA. Although they never officially divorced, they had been separated for over forty years.
Jane had 6 children: Jolene, Adam, Christmas, Jason, Jenny, and Sarah. She is survived by all but Adam, who passed away in 1999.
Jane lived in several different States throughout her life: Omaha, Utah, Arizona, Idaho, Wyoming, Nevada, Washington, Oregon, and California. She never stayed long in one place and often packed her kids up and moved to wherever the wind blew. She loved to travel and see new things. She loved art and enjoyed color. Some of her favorite paintings were of scenes with Roads, remarking that there was something to be seen around the bend, in those pictures. She was a strong and faithful believer in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. She enjoyed knitting, giving her finished items as gifts and often teaching others various crochet patterns, techniques, and styles.
Jane loved her children very much, whom she took with her, on her aimless adventures through countless places to stay and live, often temporarily, before finally settling down in Emery County, Utah, where she worked part time for years at the local food bank and volunteered at the Senior center.
Around 2010, Jane was diagnosed with Cancer. She moved to Provo, Utah to be closer to family and medical assistance. Jane ended up beating cancer. Although her battle left her physically disabled for the remainder of her life. She spent her last years at Provo Skilled Nursing, where she made several friends from roommates , to staff, physicians, and specialists, community volunteers, the bus driver, the janitor, and the homeless guy, on the corner- anyone who had a second to talk - all enjoyed her company and loved her charm, humor, and quick wit. She was unfailingly kind to whomever she met. She had a remarkable ability of making friends with people and wished to express her sincere gratitude to all mentioned herein, especially staff, nurses, techs, and doctors for taking such great care of her, and being her friend, these many years.
Jane will be laid to rest in Huntington, Utah next to her son, Adam Aloisio Lutu. Funeral arrangements TBD…
