IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Patricia
Christensen
August 6, 1948 – October 16, 2024
Our beloved mother, Patricia Loveless Christensen, passed away peacefully at home on Wednesday, October 16th at the age of 76. She was born on August 6, 1948 to Dean Ekins and Vivian Clark Loveless in Provo, Utah.
Pat grew up living in Provo and graduated from Provo High School in 1966. She met Blayne, the love of her life in 1965. When she was working at the "Hi-Spot", he would come in with his twin brother, just before closing and order hamburgers and milkshakes. This was after the grills had all been cleaned and they were ready to close for the night. It would make the other employees mad but she was just so happy to see him. During that time, Blayne would call her on Wednesdays and they would arrange a date for Friday or Saturday, depending on which weekend day he would get the car that he shared with his twin brother.
This went on for a couple of years and when Blayne got out of the army they were then married in the Salt Lake Temple on April 4, 1968. Blayne graduated from BYU and Pat from what is now UVU, as a dental assistant.
Their adventures took them to California for his first job at Bank of America in San Francisco. They later moved to Idaho when he started working at First Security Bank. He was transferred many times in Idaho before ending up in Utah. During this time they have 5 children and it was a dream come true for Pat to become a mother, a job at which she excelled in!
Pat was always the life of the party and made everyone feel welcomed and loved. She was also known as the "candy lady" around the neighborhood and loved it when children would come to her door to get candy.
She was a master homemaker and loved decorating and making her house a home. She was a talented painter, gardener, doll maker, and loved doing macrame.
She was a devoted member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and was a true example of service. She loved serving as Primary, Young Womens, and Relief Society President. After being released as Relief Society President, she was called as the ward's compassionate service leader. A job she continued to do for many years, even after she was officially released. She loved taking care of the widows in the ward by bringing them Christmas and Valentine's gifts. She loved serving and genuinely loved to make people happy!
Pat loved Christmas! She entertained many people in her home. She loved Christmastime so much that she decorated her basement with her amazing Santa Claus collection and Nativity sets. She had kinship to Santa because of her love of giving and serving others!
She is preceded in death by her parents and older sister, Dena Kimber. She is survived by her husband Blayne, sister, Georgia Brown, and children: Kellie (Dave) Knowles, Bret (Caleen) Christensen, Cody (Kali) Christensen, Brittany (Jared) Heal, and Dustin Christensen. She has
13 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, October 26th at the LDS chapel located at 1051 East 200 North in Orem. A viewing will begin at 9:30 and the funeral at 11:00.
