Obituary

Phillip Edward Groesbeck, 70, passed away peacefully at home in Orem, Utah on October 3, 2017 surrounded by his wife and family. He was born on July 15, 1947 in Rupert, Idaho. He struggled long and hard with an incurable battle of cancer and diabetes. Phil graduated from Orem High in 1965. He took an Auto Body & Fender class at Trade-Tech in Provo, Utah. He also learned Truck Driving at Trade-Tech and Mountainland Applied Technolo-gy College (MATC) in Orem, Utah. He worked at Geneva Steel for 34 1/2 years in the car shop and running an overhead crane which he loved and enjoyed. He also worked at the Dept. of Corrections as a Culinary Driver and at A.S.A.P. Automotive in Provo as a parts runner/driver. He loved being with family, 4-Wheeling, puttering in the yard, helping others, spoiling his pet cats with treats, sitting on the front porch during a rain storm and going to breakfast with his Geneva Steel friends once a week. He will be remembered mostly for being Loving, Kind and Helpful to others. He was a wonder-ful Husband, Dad, Grandpa, Great-Grandpa, Uncle, Cousin and friend to so many. We want to express our thanks to all those who came to visit at the hospital, The Peaks Care & Rehab Center and at home. Phil acquired many friends throughout his life that he holds dear to his heart. He would want to say "Thank-You" for all the memories. A special thank you to Claudia, Laly, April and the many other health care nurses that took care of him. Phil is survived by his wife of 52 years, Karen Lee Knuteson Groesbeck.
