Raymond Harmon Pead, 90, passed away at his home on October 30, 2018 in Orem, Utah after a short illness. Ray was born on April 22, 1928 in Fairview (Star Valley), Wyoming to Fredrick Budd and Henrietta Harmon Pead. He was the 6 th of 8 children. He lost both of his parents by age 7. He and his siblings were raised by family members and the Fairview community. Ray graduated from Star Valley High School. Ray married Luana Huntsman on May 11, 1955 and they were later sealed in the Logan Temple. He is survived by his sons, Orin (Darlene), Farrell (Laura), Lael (Jacqueline) and brother, Robert D. Pead. 12 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren. Ray was a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and served in many positions but one of his favorite was with Luana as dance directors. He dedicated much of his time to the scouting program and also volunteered at the Bishop's Storehouse for many years. Ray was an expert joke and story teller. He memorized many cowboy poems and shared them freely to anyone who would listen and enjoy them.   Ray was a hard worker. He enjoyed caring for a large garden and would give away much of his produce. After high school he was a sheep shearer for several years but then found his niche as a sought after general masonry contractor for over 35 years. Funeral services will be held Monday, November 5, 2018 at 11:00 AM in the Sharon 2 nd Ward building at 641 South 400 East, Orem, Ut with a viewing from 9:30 to 10:30 AM prior to the services. Family and Friends may also attend a viewing Sunday, November 4 from 6 to 8 pm at Walker-Sanderson Funeral Home, 646 East 800 North Orem, Utah. Ray will be laid to rest next to his eternal companion, Luana, at the Pleasant Grove Cemetery.
