Obituary

Renee Childs Lott

March 25,1931 – March 25, 2023

Renee Childs Lott of Provo Utah passed away on Saturday March 25, 2023. It was Renee's 92nd birthday. She passed peacefully in her own bed. This is exactly how she wanted it. Renee was the daughter of Newell and Wanda Childs. She was born in Gunnison Utah where she learned to work hard and to serve others. She passed these values on to her ten children and lived these principles everyday of her life. Her siblings include sister Glena Brady (St. George) sister Julia Mae Childs (Deceased) brother Jay Newell Childs (Deceased). Renee had a beautiful voice and sang in many choral groups. She was always humming or quietly singing under her breath. Renee was an excellent seamstress and made all her daughters' clothing. She had a good life growing up in Gunnison Utah. She had many adventures with her best friend Lily Jean Christiansen. As luck would have it, Lily Jean and Renee would both marry Lott brothers, making them Sisters in Law, thus their adventures continued.

Renee met Merrill Kent Lott and was married on September 25,1951 in the Manti LDS temple. The young couple moved to Provo where Kent finished school at BYU then eventually became a teacher in the Provo School District. Kent would be beloved among his Provo High School Students.

Renee's life was busy with church positions and raising seven boys and three girls. She was her children's number one fan. You could always find her in the stands at North Park and Harmon's Field, cheering on her little leaguers. She would be "THAT" Mom cheering her boys from the sidelines at Provo High School Basketball games or BYU football games. She was a true-blue BYU fan. Renee also found time to work at JC Penney, ZCMI, Meier and Frank and Macy's. She was always looking for an opportunity to serve. She volunteered as a Pink Lady at Utah Valley Hospital until her memory began to fail. She lost her beloved husband Kent Lott on May 30, 2007. She has missed Kent each of the 5,778 days since his passing.

If Renee had a mission statement it would read: Service to the Family. She always found ways to serve her ten children, 39 grandchildren and 22 great grandchildren. Renee died on the day she was born, having completed her mission on earth in the most perfect way possible. This perfection was expressed in the fact her earthly mission ended on the very day it began. We have no doubt she will continue her heavenly mission of service with her sweetheart by her side.

Renee Childs Lott is survived by her sister Glena Brady (St. George UT) Sons, Stuart Lott, wife Colleen (American Fork UT) Douglas Lott, Serena Sullivan (Provo ) Brent Lott, wife Marla (Orem) Gregg Lott, wife Michelle (Orem) Dean Lott, wife Jan (Gilbert AZ) Kirk Lott, wife Amy (Fallon NV) Mark Lott, wife Aimee(Herriman UT) Daughters Lori Heaton, husband Randy (Provo UT) Linda Clark, husband Scott (Draper UT) Diann Wayman, Husband Dan (Riverton)
