Robert Montgomery Blaylock was born on December 17, 1917 in Ogden, Utah to Enos Mason Blaylock and Zina Montgomery Blaylock.  He passed away on October 8, 2018 after more than 100 years of life.  Robert grew up in Idaho Falls, Idaho where he attended school and participated in sports and dramatic productions.  During his high school years, he worked as a typesetter and proof reader for the local newspaper.  Robert graduated from Brigham Young University earning a degree in English and a minor in accounting.  He began his career as an accountant with the Pacific States Pipe Company, and later founded his own accounting firm after passing the exam to become a Certified Public Accountant (CPA).  In 1940, Robert married Cora Bonne Gifford and they had five children before they eventually divorced.  Robert married Bonnie Lou Lott Phillips, a widow with two children, in 1960.  They were married for 53 years until Bonnie's death.  Robert often commented on how much he loved his wife and each of his seven children and how well the two families merged together in the same household.  He proudly displayed pictures of both families of children and grandchildren in his home. Robert was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and gave many years of service in teaching positions.  Many of the lessons he taught were later used to compile a book for his posterity titled "Grand Phather's Phables," a collection of lessons for life's problems.  He also loved outdoor activities like hunting and fishing.  He was an especially talented fly fisherman, tying his own flies and catching more fish than anyone else.  His favorite team sport was fast-pitch softball and he played on a team for many years. Robert is preceded in death by his parents Mason and Zina Blaylock; his wife Bonnie Blaylock; his brothers Stanford Blaylock, Gordon Blaylock, and Benjamin Blaylock; his sister Virginia Blaylock Cole; and his daughter Dena Blaylock Shakespeare (William).  He is survived by his sons David Blaylock (Mary Jane) and James Blaylock (Nancy); his daughters Barbara Blaylock Fawson (David) and Laura Blaylock Hickman (Roland); and stepchildren Sandra Phillips Layne (Ray) and Craig Phillips (Patti).  Robert has 24 grandchildren, 82 great grandchildren, and 25 great-great grandchildren with another four on the way. He is greatly loved and appreciated by his family, friends and business clients.  Memorial Services will be Tuesday, October 16, 2018, 2:00 p.m. at Walker Sanderson Funeral Home, 646 East 800 North, Orem.  A visitation for family and friends will be that afternoon from 1:00 - 2:00 p.m.  Interment will be at East Lawn Memorial Hills Cemetery, 4800 North 650 East, Provo.  Condolences may be offered to the family online at www.walkersanderson.com .
