Robert Craig Brooks returned to his long-awaited heavenly home on Dec 14, 2018 after a valiant and courageous journey. "Rob" was born in Provo, UT on March 22, 1972 as the first child of Craig Melvin Brooks and Debra Jean Clinger. While Rob's physical body was severely limited by Cerebral Palsy, his courageous spirit transcended his condition. His infectious smile and laugh brightened even the darkest day. He was a true hero and inspiration to the many that knew and loved him. Rob was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and is survived by his mother and step-father, Debra and John Welch; his younger siblings, Rory and Vanessa Brooks, Ashleigh and Son Ngo; his nephews and nieces, Skyler, Kolin and Mariah Ngo; Brandon, Faith, and Julianna Brooks; step-siblings, Melynda and Justin Bruner, Josh and Vanessa Welch, Monica and Kyle Scott, Jeremy and Hailey Welch, Mandy and Andrew Woodman and numerous step-nieces/nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins. Rob is preceded in death by his father, Craig, his infant brother, Ryan, and his grandparents on both sides: Melvin and Mary Brooks, Morris and Louise Clinger. Rob spent his early years in Price, UT. When he was 12 yrs old, he moved with his family to Orem, UT and has lived in the area since. His mother, Debra, was his constant companion and caretaker until age 30 when Rob moved into a group home, where he met many lifelong friends. Even after moving to the group home, Rob returned home to Mom twice a week. He loved being with family and eating his Mom's delicious home-cooked meals. He always had something for John to repair, reconstruct, or reinvent and enjoyed going on family trips and having adventures in the outdoors with his younger brother, Rory. Rob loved shopping and spending time with his younger sister, Ashleigh. Rob's joy was in his family, friends and loved ones. We celebrate Rob's purposeful life and know that he is rejoicing in the arms of a loving Heavenly Father! We extend a heartfelt thanks to the many doctors, nurses, teachers, and friends that cared for Rob and enriched his life with their love and service. Funeral Services will be held at the LDS Church building located at 1100 East 400 North in American Fork on Saturday, December 22 at 11:00am. A viewing will be held at the same address that morning at 10:00am. Condolences may be offered online at www.walkersanderson.com.
