Robert Jay Carter, 47, joined his parents and little brother, Richard, in heaven on December 16, 2021.
Robert was born on August 16, 1974 in Provo, UT, to Blaine and Glenda Carter. He was the 5th of seven children. Robert grew up in Orem, UT, and attended Orem High School, class of 1992.
From a young age, Robert had a very clever mind. In junior high, he was known to many as "Slash" for his guitar talent and love of music.
He had a quick wit and could make anyone laugh. He enjoyed landscaping and had beautiful Hollyhocks in his garden, but his side job could have been as a comedian; one never left his company without laughing.
Robert also loved to travel. He and Kyle took multiple trips to San Francisco where they watched his favorite team, the 49ers, play. He loved the history of San Francisco, especially Alcatraz. He also enjoyed trips to Catalina with Kyle to scuba dive.
Robert had a quiet love and testimony of the Savior. He loved learning about church history and was always excited to share his knowledge. One of his favorite memories was visiting Palmyra, the Sacred Grove, and Kirtland with his family before his mom passed away.
Robert had a very kind spirit and loved his family. He had a special place in his heart for all of his nieces and nephews.
Robert is deeply loved by his entire family and will be missed. We are all devastated by his sudden passing, but are comforted from the knowledge that he is with his mom, dad, and brothers.
Robert is survived by his siblings: Elaine (Dan), Karl (Sunny), Rodney, and Andy (Jill), nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews, cousins, aunts, and uncles. He is preceded in death by his father and mother (Blaine and Glenda Carter) and his two brothers, Kyle and Richard.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, December 28, at 11:00 AM at the Orem 2nd ward Church building: 80 South 280 East Orem, UT 84058. A viewing will be held prior to the funeral from 9:30-10:30 AM. Burial will be at the Orem City Cemetery.

We would also like to thank all the family and friends who have reached out to us during this difficult time. Your phone calls, texts, donations, flowers, and prayers have truly touched our hearts.
