Obituary

Robert Emanuel Dillman 1924 - 2017 Robert Emanuel Dillman was born on September 3, 1924 to Helen Vera Green and Herbert Emanuel Dillman in West Haven, Connecticut. He died on September 16, 2017. Bob lived in his beloved West Haven, Connecticut until retirement. At that point he moved to Orem, then Lindon, and finally Sandy, UT. Bob was preceded in death by his wife of 52 years, Marion Louise Simmons Dillman and his daughter, Cathy Ann Dillman. At the time of his passing he was married to Teddy Wamsley Dillman. Bob leaves behind three daughters Donna Dillman-Butler, Debra Dillman (Martinez) and Denise Dillman-Crump. And ten grandchildren, Carlos Martinez, DeAnne Martinez & Zabrina Weiler Martinez, Danielle Martinez, Daniel Robert Emanuel Crump & Hannah Peterson Crump, Matthew Crump, Jacob Crump, BreAnna Crump and Nathan Crump. Bob served in the Army during World War II and saw combat on Okinawa. During the war, he had one of the most important jobs; he delivered the mail from home to the many service men with whom he fought. He belonged to the American Legion and VFW. He was an honor guard at many of his fellow WWII veteran's funerals. Bob loved being on stage and entertaining! He would break into song and/or dance at any moment. He appeared in many musicals, and performed many times with his daughters and wives. He sang at weddings, senior centers, and any place that would have him. He prided himself on the fact that he sounded like Frank Sinatra, whom he loved. Bob had three great loves in his life; his family, his country, and music. He was a "character", he told things how they were, but he was also charming and made friends wherever he went. He was devoted, generous, and talented. He will be missed! Funeral Services will be Saturday, September 23, 2017, 12:00 p.m. at Walker Sanderson Funeral Home, 646 East 800 North, Orem. Family and friends may visit Saturday morning before the service from 10:30 - 11:30 a.m. Interment will be in American Fork City Cemetery.
