IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Robert Mark
Edwards
October 30, 1962 – November 28, 2021
Robert Mark Edwards passed away the evening of November 28, 2021, at the age of 59 in Utah Valley Hospital Provo, Utah. He was born October 30, 1962 moments after his twin brother Raymond Edwards, to his father Allen K Edwards and mother Thelma Marie Smith Edwards, in Provo, Utah. Rob was second out of eight children and was the biggest prankster in the area. While in school he excelled in, and enjoyed, math and science, as well as many sports. This included playing football for the JC's Falcons in junior high and continuing to play at Orem and Mountain View high schools. Rob also learned the trade of dairy farming at a young age with his father and twin brother. As the eldest brothers, they both took on the duty of helping support their family with their father, even while attending school. He learned early on what it meant to push through and be strong.
After graduating high school he attended Utah Valley Technical College and completed the Diesel Mechanics Program. After a while he decided to challenge himself by joining the Utah National Guard as a member of the 19th Special Forces Group of Camp Williams. He excelled at whatever they threw at him, including jumping out of planes and becoming a Paratrooper.
After being discharged from the military, he married and welcomed his daughter Robyn M. Stillwater (Tyler) into his life. He finally understood what he wanted to do with his life: to be the best dad he possibly could. He was the light of her life and the only one that truly understood her, with loving patience and kindness. No matter what obstacle was in his way, including divorce, he made it through with dignity. He constantly sacrificed his time and shared his knowledge with anyone who needed it.
His teasing nature made him the greatest father and the bestest friend. If his family or friends needed him for anything, he was there. This was so much a part of him that his last few jobs revolved around helping others, be it building maintenance, or his final job as a boiler journeyman at Utah Valley Developmental Center. He was the friend you called when you needed help fixing something, no matter what it was. Rob also loved nature and animals with a passion. Whether he was riding in his side by side, or fishing by a lake, or as a younger man hunting wabbits. Of course his dog Sarge has been his right hand man and the smallest, most vicious body guard of five pounds you'll ever meet. Rob was the life of the party and the class clown with all kinds of tricks up his sleeve. His humor was the best part of his social nature; though some would need warning of it ahead of time.
He will be sorely missed and leaves behind a daughter, step daughter, step grand daughter, and widow. All seven of his surviving siblings, Raymond, Marjean (Dennis), Judilyn (Joel), Roy (Julie), Roger (Emily), Patricia, and Lauralee (Marty) and their spouses are now missing a piece from their past, present, and future. His many, many friends and family will miss his generosity, heart of gold, and especially his laughter.
A viewing will be held in the Walker-Sanderson Funeral Home at 646 E 800 N, Orem, UT 84097 from 6pm-8pm on Thursday December 2nd, 2021. All are welcome to come share a moment with him for as long as they'd like or need.
Another personal viewing will be held the following morning on Friday December 3rd, 2021 from 9:30am-10:30am in the LDS Church auditorium at 810 E 600 N, Orem, Utah 84097. Funeral services will begin immediately following the viewing, at 11am.
Once services are finished, he will be transported to the Charleston Cemetery at 2800 US-189 Scenic, Heber City, UT 84032.
After burial services are conducted, a luncheon will be held in the same LDS Church auditorium at 810 E 600 N, Orem, Utah 84097 until 4:30pm.
