Rodney Blaine Carter, 53, of Orem, Utah, passed away on Friday, April 25, 2025, in Pueblo, Colorado. He was born on February 22, 1972, in Provo, Utah, to Blaine and Glenda Carter. Rodney was the fourth of seven children & shared a special bond with his sister, Elaine, with whom he was especially close. Rodney was known for his fun-loving spirit, and his musical talent.
Growing up in Orem, He graduated from Orem High School and later served a mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in the Dominican Republic. There, he became fluent in Spanish and dedicated himself to teaching and serving the people.
Rodney's vibrant personality and unique talents touched everyone he met. His love for music led him to become the lead singer of The Diamond Experience, a Neil Diamond tribute band. Audiences often remarked on how closely his voice resembled the legendary singer's. He captivated audiences with his powerful voice and magnetic stage presence, leaving an indelible mark on all who were fortunate to hear him perform. His passion for music was evident, bringing joy and nostalgia to countless listeners.
In his personal life, Rodney enjoyed traveling, road trips, and camping with family and friends. He also had an extensive Star Wars collection. He was an avid gardener, known for having the most beautiful garden on the block as well as for its meticulous care and vibrant blooms, He took great pride in his work. Throughout his life, he also developed a deep connection with cats, whom he lovingly cared for and who were a constant source of comfort and companionship.
Rodney is survived by his sister, Elaine Johnson; Brothers Karl (Sunny) Carter and Andy (Jill) Carter; and many nieces, nephews, aunts, and uncles. His Cats: Lulu, Olivia, Frankie, Roxie & Gracie. He was preceded in death by his parents, Blaine and Glenda Carter, and brothers Kyle, Robert, and Richard Carter.
Rodney will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
The family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to Shaurell at the hospital and to all the nurses at the hospice center who provided compassionate care during this challenging time.
A Funeral service to celebrate Rodney's life will be held on Monday, May 12, 2025 11:30 AM at Walker Sanderson Funeral Home located at 646 East 800 North. Orem. There will be a visitation from 11-11:30 prior to the service
