Roland Gerry Shepherd, 76, of Orem, peacefully passed away May 27th, 2019 in his home in Orem. He married Marcella Jean Christiansen/Newman on February 17th, 1962 in Orem, they were later sealed on April 25th, 1964 in the Manti Temple. They shared 57 wonderful years together raising a family. Roland was born in the summer of July 5, 1942 in American Fork, UT. He was the son of John William Shepherd and Merinda Annie Turner. He was the second youngest out of 5 children. He followed in his father's footsteps as a Pipefitter. He was an avid outdoorsmen, who loved wildlife and nature, spending time with his family and grandchildren camping and hunting. He taught all of his children to love the peace and sanctity of the outdoors and instilled in them a work ethic that could test time. Roland is survived by his wife M. Jean and his 6 children; Pamela (Brad) Gunnell, Cynthia-wife of Roland Scott Shepherd, Kyle (Julie) Shepherd, Randall (Dixie) Shepherd, Troy (Rebekah) Shepherd, Travis (Jamie) Shepherd, Shaun (Celeste) Shepherd and 30 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents John William Shepherd and Merinda Annie Turner. Brothers Edward John and Marvin Ray. Children Roland Scott and Gayle Rose and a granddaughter Brittney Erma. Funeral Services will be Saturday, June 1, 2019, 11:00 a.m. at the Park LDS Ward, 114 South 400 West, Orem. Family and friends may visit prior to services at the church from 9:00-10:30 a.m. Interment will be in Orem City Cemetery, 1520 North 800 East, Orem.
