IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Roman Shane
Turner
April 7, 1997 – December 7, 2023
Our cherished husband, son, brother, uncle, nephew, and friend, Roman Shane Turner, age 26, lost his battle with mental health and gained his angel wings on December 7, 2023.
On April 7, 1997, Roman was born in West Valley City, Utah, to Shane and Stephani Turner. He was the eighth of ten children. Roman married NaTasha Caroline Taylor on July 29, 2022, in Las Vegas, Nevada. Roman and NaTasha have one child, Osiris Shane Turner.
Roman graduated from Timpanogos High School in 2015 and later continued his education at the Georgia Military College in Augusta, Georgia.
Roman joined the United States Army in 2016, serving with distinction in full-time and reserve positions. Roman had also recently joined the Utah Department of Correction, where he worked tirelessly in the academy to earn a place within their organization.
Roman was very passionate about many things in his life, but he was well known for his love of gaming. Whether the game was RuneScape, Pokémon, League of Legends, or Destiny, Roman enjoyed them all, and often times, his buddies (Danny included) and him would stay up late into the night laughing and collaborating on their games. He was best known for his mastery of all things Borderlands due to the thousands of hours that Roman spent through the years. However, the game that both Roman and Danny were recently invested in was Magic: The Gathering, where an epic battle would unfold every Sunday afternoon.
Roman found immense fulfillment through his roles as a husband and father. Truly, his greatest joys in his life were his wife (NaTasha) and his son (Osiris). Roman and NaTasha were an ideal blend of contrasts: her vibrant, carefree personality complemented his reserved, passionate nature.
The birth of their son, Osiris, was a life-changing event for Roman. Roman's "tough guy" personality immediately melted away the day Osiris was born. From that day forth, Roman's desires in life were to ensure his son would always know that he was loved deeply, and that Osiris would have pride in his father. Roman's dedication to these goals continues in the next stage of his journey as he looks forward to a wonderful reunion with his family.
Roman is survived by his loving wife, son, parents, siblings, many other family members, and many more "adopted" family members. He is also survived by his beloved cat, Dawn.
He and his very close brother, Danny, are still together in death as they were in life "watching each other's six" and starting the next stage of their journey together.
A special gathering of family and friends will be held on Wednesday, December 20 from 17:30 to 19:30 at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints building located at 990 N 100 W Orem, UT.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, December 21 at 13:00 at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints building located at 990 N 100 W Orem, UT. Family and friends are invited to gather from 11:00 to 12:30 prior to the services.
In homage of Roman and Danny, the family invites those who have been touched by their lives to share cherished memories. A selection of these memories will be tenderly shared with those gathered to celebrate their lives. All shared memories will be woven into a compilation—ensuring that their legacy will be preserved for family, loved ones, and posterity.
