IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Rosinda Aguilar
Meredith
August 18, 1942 – December 7, 2022
On December 7, 2022, Rosinda Meredith, our loving mother moved on from this earth and is now with her husband Richard Meredith and other loved ones. After a short illness, she passed away at home with children and grandchildren near.
Rosinda was born August 18, 1942, in Mexico City, Mexico, as the daughter of Jose Aguilar and Victoria Ortiz. She came to the US in the 1950s. She graduated from John Burrough's High School in Burbank, California. She worked at California's Division of Highways (now Caltrans) when the division was very active in building and expanding freeways. The Division had a professional photo shoot of her in the poppy fields that is now Century City and the 10 freeway.
She was married to Richard Meredith on March 16, 1963, and they were sealed in the Los Angeles LDS Temple on February 6, 1971. They were blessed with six amazing children. Amazing because she was an amazing mother that raised them that way. She is survived and mourned by all of them: Linda and David Hawley, Lillian and Glenn Reedy, Letitia and Morton Fletcher, Lizabeth Baldwin, Richard Earl, II, and Marnie Meredith, and Maria Meredith. She is also survived by her sisters Maria Elena Baca, Hilda Granado, and Francisco Aguilar, 17 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren plus many more that call her grandma. I would mention her favorite, but we all know who that is. She made everyone feel like you were her favorite.
She was preceded in death by her husband Richard, grandson Jason Baldwin, her parents, her brother Phil Aguilar, sister Connie Lopez, and in-laws Alan Meredith, Warren Meredith, and Margaret Webb. Her siblings left this earth in birth order over the last year, and she mistakenly believed that she was next. Her life's work has been to love her children. She toiled and sacrificed for the welfare of her family. The kitchen made her home special. There cannot be found finer authentic Mexican cuisine than at her kitchen table. She made birthdays special for everyone to have your favorite meal cooked by her. She had quite a sense of humor too. She loved the Lord and served him in so many ways.
She loved to learn. She was always listening to the radio back in the day and now podcasts. She attended education classes wherever she could and every year at BYU education week. She had a voracious appetite to learn about raising children, the gospel, real estate, and cooking. She was faithful, courageous, and full of love. We are grateful to have her as our angel as we continue our journey on this earth.
