Russell Alan Nye passed away on April 6th, 2026. He was Born June 17, 1950 in Coalville Utah to Ora Kay Nye and Margery Ruth Hill. When he was younger he enjoyed going for afternoon rides in the car and shooting with his grandpa. He was in the marching band and played the
clarinet, which he later insisted all of his children learn. His love for music continued throughout his life as he sang in ward choirs.
He graduated valedictorian from Evanston High School and attended Brigham Young University where he graduated with a bachelor's degree in Physics. During that time he met the love of his life, his eternal companion, Paula Jean Currie. They were sealed in the Salt Lake Temple on June 14, 1972. He later joined the United States Navy as an Officer and served in an anti-submarine squadron stationed in New Brunswick, Maine, Bermuda, and the Azores. After his service, they moved to Utah, where they would raise their family. Russell spent his career as an electronics technician and technical librarian building data links for many defense contractors over the years. Russell served in many callings in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day-Saints over the years, he was a financial clerk and branch president and he especially loved singing in the choir and had a testimony and love of his Savior.
Russell was the proud father of four children; Russell Jr., Travis, Nathan, and Jennie and the very proud grandfather of Lexie, Ryker, Rogan, Levi, Caitlin, Gemma, James, Evie, Kaylix, Elora, and Ayla. He loved his family so much! He loved spending time with them, going on picnics in the Uinta’s and at Bear Lake.
He is preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his loving wife Paula, his four children, and his two brothers, Roger Nye and Rulon Nye.
