Born Ruth Marie DeWalt to Lina Pearl Graham and Clark Zenn DeWalt on April 27, 1926, in Cleveland Ohio. She was 47 minutes older than her twin brother. Ruth grew up on farms during the Great Depression in the areas surrounding Florence Ohio. The farm sustained them as well as hunting, fishing & trapping. The happy couple lived in Lorain, Ohio, until 1969 when they moved to Provo, Utah, with their 6 children. Ruth was known for doing family history work, spending time with grandchildren and serving as a Provo Temple ordinance worker. During retirement Ruth and Melvin traveled the United States visiting loved ones. Ruth and Melvin also served a family history mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Las Vegas, Nevada where they had the privilege to work in the family history center for nearly 7 years. Even after serving this mission Ruth continued to work on her family history. She is known for this great work throughout the church, family and with her friends.
