Obituary

Sally Ann Christiansen Dickerson

She loved her family more than anything and always made sure they were well taken care of.

Sally passed through the veil peacefully on August 4, 2026 in Salt Lake City, Utah, at the age of 88 to join family and friends whom we know were waiting with great excitement for her arrival.

She was preceded in death by her husband Larry E. Dickerson, daughter Sue Heaps (Brad), brother Mike Christiansen (Shelly), and parents E. Garland and Hazel Christiansen, and great-grandson Kayden who died at birth. After Larry’s death she married Dennis Slater who also passed in 2026.

For a short time she leaves behind many family members and friends who can’t wait to see her again, including her kids, son Jon Dickerson (Kim), daughter Dianne Dickerson, son Joel Dickerson (Jena), son Jim Dickerson (Debbie), 19 grandchildren, and 12 great grandchildren.

Sally was born June 22, 1938 in Ontario, Oregon, to incredible parents who loved her as much as any child could be loved. She graduated from Ontario High School and attended BYU where she met her husband Larry. They were sealed to each other in the Idaho Falls temple. After Larry’s graduation they moved to California where Sue was born, then back to Utah where Jon, Dianne, Joel, and Jim were born. They raised their family mostly in Salt Lake County, ending up in South Jordan until retiring to St George.

Sally was the happiest and most kind person you could ever meet.

Sally was the happiest and most kind person you could ever meet. She loved her family more than anything and always made sure they were well taken care of. She was an incredible cook, loved good mystery novels and mystery shows, loved to sing and act, served faithfully in many trusted church callings, attended all of her kids athletic and other school events, and created many family traditions.

She will be sorely missed by those left behind.

Services will be held Monday, August 10, 2026, at Walker Sanderson Funeral Home in Orem, Utah, 646 East 800 North. The viewing will begin at 1:00pm with a memorial service immediately following. Friends and family are invited to attend.
