Obituary

Sandy Jacobson passed away March 13, 2023. Sandy was born April 11, 1947 to Lars Magnus and Dorothy Nelson. Mom grew up and attended schools in Orem. She and her younger sister, Nanci, had a wonderful childhood together and developed a very close relationship with each other. Mom's fondest memories were spending time with cousins at Soldier Summit shooting BB guns, catching frogs and lizards, getting her first pair of levi's and cowboy hat. She spoke of this often.

Sandy's father passed away when she was 15. Her mother married LeGrande Young. He became the best father and grandfather to Sandy, Nanci and the grandchildren to follow.

Sandy married at a young age and had two children; Traci and Shawn. Later divorced, Sandy raised her children as a single parent. The best "Mom and Dad" anyone could ask for.

As they grew, she began working at Signetics, where she made many friends. When the plant closed, she worked at the Texaco in Santaquin and then Taco Time in Payson. She was known as "Sandy J" and was loved by ALL that knew her and her nutty personality.

Sandy became a young grandma and her life began to change. She said she never knew how much love Beau, a blonde haired, blue eyed little boy, could bring to a family. Then four more grandchildren followed: Kortni, Braxton, Shaniya and Shandi, and she said her life was complete. She spent every bit of her spare time with the five of them; picking up from school, tending, taking to and from activities, attending ballgames and school programs, going to the movies, Sizzler and Chucky Cheese. She was involved with every one of their lives and never missed a game or program.

Just when she thought her heart was full, the great and great-great grandkids arrived and the joy she experienced was unwavering. Her family meant everything to her and she gave every ounce of herself to them. Her life was lived through their eyes.

Mom taught us all that love is the most amazing and rewarding gift one could have. She has been a huge example to us all with unconditional love, friendship and selflessness. The hole that has been left will be felt by all that knew her. We are all so very blessed to have been loved by her.

She is survived by her children: Traci (Troy) Wright and Shawn Jacobson; 5 grandchildren: Beau (Jessica) Wright, Kortni (Luke) Madsen, Braxton (Airel) Jacobson, Shaniya (Tom) Mortensen and Shandi Jacobson; 6 great grandchildren: Kennedie, Easton, Gunner, Nova, Koda and baby on the way; and 3 great-great grandchildren: Wraylie, Wrenlee and Tailah. Her sister Nanci (Jay) McCalister and her sweet most loved companion "Buster". She was preceded in death by her father, mother and step-father.

We want to thank Stonehenge of Springville, Belle Vie Hospice and all of the Doctors, Nurses and Aides for their love and care for our sweet mom. You are all "Amazing Angels" to those who need you the most. Our family will be forever grateful.

A Celebration of Sandy's life will be held on Thursday, March 23, 2023 from 5pm to 9pm at the Walker Sanderson Funeral Home, 646 E 800 N Orem, Utah.
