Obituary

Our exceptionally eccentric mom, Setta Kay, passed away peacefully at the age of 81 on April 5th, 2024 with her children by her side.

Setta Kay was born May 7th,1942 to Reuben and Maggie Christianson. She married Hal Anderson on February 2nd, 1961 and they celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary before he passed away in 2021. She was educated at Spanish Fork High School and Utah State University and continued to seek further education while employed with the Utah County Assessor's Office. She retired from Utah County after 32 years in 2005. She loved to seek knowledge and was an avid reader in many genres. She was a strong minded independent woman who lived her life to the fullest. She had progressive thoughts and was accepting toward liberal and diverse views. She was known for her sassy attitude, sharp comebacks, and full bodied laugh. She enjoyed many years of golfing with the Spanish Fork Women's Golf Association. She was a talented artist and created beautiful paintings for her children, grandchildren, siblings, and loved ones. Her grandchildren will tell you that no one can make a meal as good as their Grandma Setta. In retirement you could find her in Beaver Dam laughing in the sun with her dearest friend and sister(in-law) Jayne, while their husbands puttered around the yard. If she wasn't in the sun, she was donating her time and money to the local pastime.

She is survived by her 5 children, Joel, Christine, Warren, Holli (Mike), and Jill (Kelly), 13 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren and her brother David (Julie). She was preceded in death by her husband, Hal Enevold Anderson, her parents Reuben Leo Christianson and Maggie Priscilla Boyack Christianson and her siblings, Jack (Murl), Louise, Lois (Shoro) Budo, Carol (Lou) Nelson, Frank (Pat), Jim (Helen), Sterling (Peggy), and Phil (Jan). In lieu of flowers, please honor Setta by following her high school motto: Love life and live without strife. There will be a Celebration of Life for Setta on Sunday, April 28th from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM at 1309 East 400 North Spanish Fork, Utah.
