On Thursday, July 1, 2021, Sherri Lee (Bottema) Millecam left this mortal life, peacefully at the age of 58.
Sherri was born on April 16, 1963 in San Gabriel, California to Albert and Helen (Schmuhl) Bottema. She and her family moved to Cedar City, Utah, before her 8th-grade year. In high school, she was a member of Cedar City High School's award-winning Madrigals choir as well as Student body Secretary.
She worked for several years for LDS Social Services. While there, she made many life-long friends. She even decided to adopt a couple into her family by having her children call them "Aunt" and "Grandma."
She was well-known for her positive energy, quick wit, and her gift for gab. Because of her ability to make others feel loved and listened to, she was remembered by all who came in contact with her.
She enjoyed expressing her creativity through style, decorating, and scrapbooking. She not only created scrapbooks for her children, but she created scrapbooks of family history and family reunions. She also had a unique collection of miniature shoes that she began collecting at an early age.
Spending time with family was a top priority for Sherri. She coined herself as "Favorite Aunt Sherri" and loved spending time with her nieces and nephews. Cousin parties were often hosted at her home. When they were not, she was always invited and joined in the fun and laughter.
Her pride and joy were her children, Khristen and Bryce. She constantly bragged about their accomplishments to those around her. She enjoyed being a soccer mom, a skating mom, and a second mom to all their friends.
Sherri was preceded in death by her father Al, mother Helen, grandson Roman, and brother Mark ("Howie"). She is survived by her children, Khristen (Jared) Massic and Bryce (Amanda) Millecam, seven grandchildren: Edward, Benson, Mae, Lincoln, Banks, Holden, and Eliza. She is also survived by her siblings, Al (Dorothy) Bottema, Barbara (Paul) Yardley, Paul (Polly) Bottema, Wendy (Mark) Foree, and Matthew (Andrea) Bottema.
Sherri's family would like to thank the many health care professionals that cared for Sherri over the 35 years she had rheumatoid arthritis and all other ailments that resulted from the disease. They would also like to thank the wonderful staff of Covington Senior Living and First Choice Home Health for their care and friendships.
