Shirley Rae Carter Peterson, 72, of Orem, passed away peacefully in her home on Friday October 18th 2019 at 8:30 a.m. Shirley is preceded in death by her father, James (Jim) Arthur Carter, her mother Flora Fae (Richins) Carter and her sister Gloria (Carter) Healey. Shirley is survived by her loving husband of 52 years, Harold Brent Peterson.Shirley is lovingly remembered by her children Wendy (Jeff) Wallace of Orem, Bill (Kim) Peterson of Orem, Jamie (Greg) Dunn of Provo and Tammy (Cory) Kingston of Provo, her grandchildren Brenden Wallace, Eleesa Wallace, Ashley Peterson, Taylor Peterson, Taylee Peterson, Morgan Dunn, Jordan Dunn, Natalie Kingston, Brady Kingston, Kyle Kingston, Aiden Kingston, and her siblings Jinny (Larry) Mair of Heber, Arthur Dee (Sue) Carter of Lindon, Carlin Phillips of Lehi, Ricky (Lorraine) Carter of Lindon. Shirley was born in American Fork, Utah on November 27th 1946. She was raised in Lehi and graduated from Lehi High School in 1965. Brent and Shirley were married on January 6th, 1967 and sealed in the Salt Lake temple on April 29th 1977. Shirley's greatest joy in life was spending time with her family. She loved to scrapbook, sew and play the piano. She also enjoyed camping and fishing. Funeral services will be held Thursday October 24th, 1:00 p.m. at the Walker Sanderson Funeral Home 646 East 800 North, Orem Utah. A viewing will be held on Wednesday October 23 6:00 - 8:00 p.m., Walker Sanderson Funeral Home, 646 East 800 North Orem Utah and prior to services, 11:30 a.m. - 12:45 p.m. Interment to follow at Orem Cemetery 1520 North 800 East, Orem.
