Our dear longtime friend passed away May 14th after surviving a stroke last year. This last stroke proved to be too much for her. I am humbled and honored that my family and I were able to see her at the hospital and tell her how much we loved her, thanked her for the many hikes with PB&J sandwiches and our goodbyes. Stanie and I were students at East High School when we met. She was childlike, unique and fearless. We became fast friends. Sometime after high school, she took her roller skates (her uncle owned a roller skating rink on Redwood Road) and seamstress skills to Southern Utah where she served tourists pizza and drinks while roller skating. Even though we led different lives, our friendship was one of love and great respect. Never fear entertaining those that don't dress and think like you because you might miss the needed angels in your life. - Patricia Rader Rickers
