IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Steven Alma
Hair
May 29, 1969 – September 3, 2024
Steven Alma Hair
May 29th 1969-September 3rd 2024
It is with great sadness that we announce the untimely death of our beloved brother, son, uncle, nephew, and friend. Steven was born on a sunny Spring day, at the end of May to Reynold Garth Hair and Sadie June Turner Hair. School was out for all his older siblings, and we had a brand new baby brother to love and help take care of. Steven attended Geneva Elementary, Orem Jr. High, and Mountain View High School.
Steven was the joy and fun in our family, he was the last of his four brothers, and he got into mischief along with them. They rode tires down the big hill, and played in the fields all around the neighborhood/ Lizard Valley. He loved all the new gadgets and toys for boys. He loved doing anything outdoors, especially with family. We camped with him for many years up in the Uintahs and American Fork Canyon, Moab, and many others, we also enjoyed hikes throughout Utah many times with him. One of his favorite hikes was to the top of Mount TImpanogos with his brothers, brothers-in-law, nephews, nieces, and dad. When they would reach the top, they would pull out a mirror and signal below to the family home in Orem where a worried mom and sisters waited for that signal that they made it to the top safely; a tradition that had started many years before, by our dad. Steven had many hobbies, he loved to snow ski, fishing the rivers and lakes, hunting, exploring all Utah had to offer, and he loved roller coasters and amusement parks. Steven was our family historian, as he was always behind the camera recording numerous concerts, plays, sports events, family activities, and everyday life. One of his favorite hobbies was riding his motorcycle and side-by-side in the mountains, desert, and open roads. His most recent ride was honoring the fallen officers up to the Utah State Capitol, something he had done numerous times. He recently went on an over 2,000 mile motorcycle ride with friends through Southern Utah. Steven was employed with Jack's Tire and Oil for over 32 years, receiving many rewards of service for his dedication to his employer and customers. He was loved by his coworkers and he loved them, he would accompany them and their families on camping and hunting trips. Steven was a beloved member of his Orem ward for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, having lived in the same neighborhood his whole life.
We as a family are so appreciative of his many years of dedicated love, compassion, and service to our mom and dad. He was incredibly selfless and gave so much of his time and efforts to help our mom and dad, especially in their last years.
Steven is survived by his loving siblings; Melanie (Rich) Titus, Michael (Debbie) Hair, Clifton (Joyce) Hair, Raymond (Joyce) Hair, Laurel (Mike) Conrad, and many nieces and nephews who always loved their uncle "Spud." He was preceded in death by his parents, Garth and June Hair.
In Lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation to the Utah Fallen Officers Fund. Utah1033.org in his honor.
A celebration of his life will be held in his honor, Sunday September 8th from 4-6pm at Walker Sanderson Funeral Home. Located 646 E 800 N Orem Ut.
