IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Teresa Myrup
Nelson
December 24, 1952 – August 18, 2024
Our loving mother, grandmother, and sister, Teresa Myrup Nelson, 71, passed away on August 18, 2024, in Orem, Utah. She was born December 24, 1952, at LDS Hospital in Salt Lake City, Utah, to Donald Lee and Ilene Nelda Rasmussen Myrup.
She married Joseph Batty on January 17, 1972, in Elko, Nevada. They later divorced. She later married Thomas Nelson on July 16, 1984, in Elko, Nevada.
Mom graduated from American Fork High in 1971, but she would always tell people she considered herself an Orem High Tiger to the end.
Mom spent her childhood years exploring remote areas of Utah with her family. She also enjoyed spending summers with her paternal grandparents in Lander, Wyoming, with cousins.
Mom enjoyed needlework, crocheting and other activities involving her hands. She collected many patterns on her computer hoping to one day complete them all. She enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren. Her most favorite moment was traveling with Terena to Boston to see her youngest grandson, Andrew, after he was born.
Mom never stopped loving nor did she give up on her search for a son that she placed for adoption in 1975.
She is survived by her son Steven Batty (Rebecca), and her daughters Terena Romero (Steve), and Tonya Czernow (Jurij). 5 Grandchildren: Terrilyn Romero, Delsa Jane Romero (Parker Kipp), Steven Moses Romero, Rachelle Ilene Romero McKay (Liam), and Andrew John Czernow; 1 Great-Grandchild: Sebastian Parker Kipp. 3 sisters and 2 brothers: Loraine (Delon) Whetten, Blake Partridge, Louise (Matthew) Bishop, Annette (Ray) Winger, and Jeffrey (Wendi) Myrup; numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents; her stepmother, Clarene; her husband, Tom, and a brother, James.
The family would like to thank the many doctors, nurses, and medical staff who have helped mom through her various health challenges.
Mom, we love you and we will miss you greatly 'til we meet again.
