Timmothy Hugh Dixon was born in Provo, Utah on September 13, 1968 to Bill and Karen Dixon. He ended his long battle with cancer peacefully on January 16, 2020 at the age of 51.
Timm grew up in Orem, UT and graduated from Mountain View High School in the Class of 1986. He married the love of his life, Melissa Wilson, on April 20, 1991 and they spent many wonderful years together. He started at Geneva Steel in 1988 and worked there until 2001 where all his coworkers called him "Timmy the Tugger". He was a Jack-of-all-trades, the hardest worker, and always gave 100%. When he was diagnosed with cancer in 2001, he decided to go back to school to become an Electrician and got a job at Orbital ATK (Northrop Grumman) where he worked until the end of his career. He was a Proud Member of the United Steel Workers Local Union 12-593 where he served as a Trustee, Negotiator, and Union Shop Steward. His passions included outdoor activities such as taking in sunshine, gardening, working in his yard, The Elusive Bigfoot, skiing, water skiing, the ever cunning Anunnaki, fishing, swimming at the family pool, the Dixon pull up, and BBQ's with family and friends. He enjoyed spending time in his garage woodworking and making clocks and treasure boxes for friends and loved ones. His love for his friends and family was always felt and he was the life of every party. If there was music playing, he was dancing! His enthusiasm for Halloween/costume parties was unrivaled and no one could put a costume together as well as Timm. He had the most courageous smile, and was genuine, thoughtful, and kind to everyone he met.
One of the many unique experiences of his life was to remove snow during the 2002 Olympics and Paralympics where he met Prince Albert II of Monaco, allegedly. He also allegedly played poker with Joe Biden. It is confirmed he once met Octavia Spencer.
Timm is survived by his loving wife, Melissa, his naughty Dotty , his parents Bill and Karen Dixon, his in-laws David and Roberta Wilson, his siblings Todd (Adrienne) Dixon, Lisa (Ronnie) Dixon-Walker, Cher (Issac) Nielsen; In-laws Adrienne (Todd) Dixon, Joe (Kim) Wilson, and Jeff (Ginger) Wilson. He had a special bond with his five nieces: Chelsea, Chaylee, Layla, Brooklyn, and Ellie and five nephews: Drake, McCade, Riley, Jack, and Liam and one great-niece, Mya. They will miss their uncle Timmy so much. He is preceded in death by his nephew Zach Fenton, Poindexter, Harley, Blue, and Izzy.
There will be a celebration of life for Timmy on Sunday January 26th, 2020. Open house from 1-4pm at The Bright Building (25 W 400 S Provo, Utah). Condolences may be offered to the family at www.walkersanderson.com
