IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Troy Alva
Durfey
July 4, 1964 – October 24, 2024
Troy Alva Durfey
1964-2024
Troy Alva Durfey, 60, of Orem passed away in Provo on October 24, 2024.
Troy was born in Provo on July 4, 1964, to Thomas and Gloria Durfey. Troy took great pride in being the oldest of their four children, Angela (Durfey) Reed, William Durfey, and Samantha (Durfey) Bright.
Troy was a loving father, religious Denver Broncos fan and an avid outdoorsman. He supported his family with a variety of jobs in construction, truck driving, and his favorite, seismographing. His greatest accomplishment, however, was becoming a father when his ex-wife Jamie (Leishman) Brimhall gave birth to their son Trever Durfey. When he met Jamie, he also became an instant stepfather to the then 2-year-old, Mike Dayley who he loved and treated as his own. He later became a proud grandpa (and Santa) to Ryan and Weston Dayley.
Troy had a major addiction to the Denver Broncos; you would find him yelling and cheering at the TV during every game. He loved the outdoors and would camp as much as possible, whether it was hunting alone with his son Trever or just camping with family, and he looked forward to the family reunion every year because of this. He loved playing cards. He would play solitaire for hours and every Thanksgiving he would sit in the same spot waiting and wanting to start a card game or dominos. The endless birthday spankings can finally stop. Rest in peace, we will miss you and love you always.
Troy was survived by his son, Trever Durfey, father, Thomas Durfey, sister, Angela (Durfey) Reed, brother, William Durfey (Angie Candelario Durfey), sister, Samantha (Durfey) Bright (Charles Bright). Ex wife Jamie (Leishman) Brimhall, stepson, Mike Dayley, grandkids Ryan and Weston Dayley. Preceded in death by his mother, Gloria Jean (Davis) Durfey, brother-in-law and best friend, Karl Reed, and many more loved ones.
Funeral services will be held Friday November 1, 2024, at Walker Sanderson Funeral Home located at 646 E. 800 N. Orem, UT 84097. A viewing will begin at 1:30PM-2:30PM with the funeral to follow at 3:00PM.
