Obituary

Vena Rose (Keefer) Wren died peacefully on Sunday, December 3, 2017 at Courtyard at Jamestown Assisted Living in Provo, Utah. She was 97. Ms. Wren is survived by her three children (and their spouses) Patricia (Ambrose) Potrzebowski of Herndon, PA, Christine (Joe Schaut) Wren of Provo, UT, and Douglas (Heather) Wren of Virginia Beach, VA; five grandchildren Alina Potrzebowski of Albuquerque, NM, Bart Robbins of Provo, UT, Alek Potrzebowski of Washington, DC, and Everett and Naomi Wren both of Virginia Beach, VA; three great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Guy Lyle, and by her former husband, George R. Wren; sisters Vera Keefer, Ruie Fuller Smith, Ial Fuller, and Bethel Baker; and brothers Lyle and Scott Keefer. Born August 3, 1920 in Roxand Township, Eaton County, Michigan, to the late Glen and Lura (Dickinson) Keefer, Vena was a graduate of Marshall (MI) High School. During World War II, she worked in a Kelvinator factory that manufactured airplane propellers. Ms. Wren was the Director of Volunteer Services at Doctors Hospital in Tucker, Georgia during the 1970s and 1980s, and resided in Atlanta and Athens, GA for 50 years before moving to Provo in 2015. Private services will be held at the convenience of the family.
