IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Victauno Luigi
Deauvono
July 20, 1949 – October 4, 2025
Vic was a cherished father, grandfather, son, brother, and friend, passed away peacefully on October 4th, 2025, at the age of 76, surrounded by his loved ones.
Born on July 20th, 1949, Vic was the son of Luigi Demman and Lorraine Oblad Thomas. Both of his parents and brother, Greg Hanks, have also passed away.
Vic is survived by his daughter Heather McKeehan, her husband Heath, and their three beautiful daughters, Farrah, Fallon, and Finley. He also has siblings Steve Hanks, Jodi Ellefson, Julie Ann Rees, Heidi DeVries and husband Gary DeVries, Greg's wife, Gloria, and many cousins complete his family.
Vic was married to Susan Wuthrich Deauvono and Gayle Tenney. Gayle's family includes Kim and Ned Warner, Teresa and Mike Harris, Alyson and Paul Clifford, George and Christi Chingas, and Stephanie Chingas Hayley, along with several grandchildren.
His Aunt Flo, who he loved dearly and many cousins on the Demman side.
From a young age, Vic was driven by an entrepreneurial spirit. He established a concert company, and collaborated with renowned artists like Chicago and Roberta Flack. He helped start the outdoor concert series at Sundance, with Robert Redford. He then later created the "Celebration of Christ" concert that showcased Kevin Olusola from the Pentatonix. Additionally, he ventured into the culinary world by opening a Japanese restaurant in Sugar House and launched a clothing company. Furthermore, he pursued land development, constructing subdivisions that contributed to the growth of his community.
He was an active sports enthusiast throughout his life, continuing to play basketball in the Senior Olympics. He played for the University of Utah basketball under Jack Gardner and also played basketball under Trent Bliss at Snow college. He helped establish the basketball program at Salt Lake Community college. And was an assistant coach with Jerry Tarkanian at UNLV. He trained Thurl Bailey, who played for the Utah Jazz. Additionally, he took young athletes to camps to help them get recruited into the NBA. He was always an inspiration to others to maintain a healthy lifestyle. Because of his passion for sports, he was the director of entertainment for the winter 2002 Olympics.
In his community, he held various leadership positions, serving on numerous boards and planning commissions. He also served on many councils in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Notably, he spearheaded the foundation of the Rocky Mountain Medical College. His unwavering commitment to his community and his willingness to fight for justice were truly commendable.
He served in the Marine Corps, deeply passionate about his country and a true patriot.
At his core, he was a humanitarian. For years, he dedicated himself to feeding the homeless. He was also actively involved in the Boys and Girls Club of Utah Valley, the Multiple Sclerosis Foundation, and provided support to orphans in other countries. In his later years, he volunteered his time as a fire fighter for search and rescue operations and took care of retired veterans.
He was always ready to lend a helping hand to his neighbors. You could always count on Vic.
His infectious smile and laughter brightened up any room he entered. He was truly one of a kind! He cherished his family and was always ready to offer positive advice. He would frequently call Heather and check in on her. Heather misses their conversations, but she knows that his legacy of love, humor, and giving back to others will live on through her family.
He held a deep respect for his mother and was deeply grateful for her role in raising him and his siblings. They are now together in heaven. Although we have lost an incredible man on Earth, we know that he is already doing amazing things in Heaven. We will love him forever and miss him dearly.
In honor of his love for Christmas, we will celebrate the season.
Vic's Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, December 20th, at the Provo Marriott Convention Center from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM.
