IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Virginia Elizabeth
Vaughn
March 10, 1941 – February 9, 2026
Virginia Elizabeth O'Rafferty Vaughn
March 10, 1941 — February 9, 2026
Virginia Elizabeth O'Rafferty Vaughn, affectionately known as "Ginger," passed away peacefully on February 9, 2026, at the age of 84. She leaves behind a profound legacy of faith, family, and unconditional love.
Born in Louisville, Kentucky, on March 10, 1941, to the O'Rafferty family, Ginger proudly carried her Irish heritage throughout her life.
After spending her youth in Hemet, California, she moved to Seattle at age 17 to pursue a modeling career and work with her sister, Evelyn, in her day care facility. It was there she met the love of her life, Kenneth Dick Vaughn Sr. The two were married in Everett, Washington, on August 1, 1959.
Their 66-year journey was anchored by their devotion to one another and their faith. After joining The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, they were sealed as a family in the Salt Lake Temple. A dedicated homemaker, Ginger raised eight children and frequently opened her heart and home to many others over the years.
Gift-giving was Ginger's love language; she stayed connected across the miles through thoughtful packages, cards, and frequent phone calls. Beyond her home, she was a pillar of support for her husband's career and church service, notably serving as a board member and secretary for the Chairbound Sportsman nonprofit for the past 17 years.
Ginger is survived by her husband, Kenneth; her children, Helen (Greg) Ward, Sandy Dean, Ken Vaughn Jr., Warren Vaughn, Daniel (Carie) Vaughn, Crystal Vaughn, John Vaughn, and Kenneth (Ali) Vaughn III; as well as a large legacy of grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She will be missed greatly.
Funeral will take place at 12:00 pm on Saturday, February 21, 2026, at the following address at the LDS church located at 996 West Center Street
