Wallace Lynn Brereton (Wally) was born August 15, 1937 in Provo, Utah to Lynn Elmer and Neva Marie Rasmussen Brereton. He was raised in Edgemont and graduated from Lincoln High School. Wally married Linda Briggs on July 29, 1960. The next four years were spent at Camp Hanford, Washington and Presidio of San Francisco where Wally honorably served for the U.S. Army. Upon returning to Utah, Wally and Linda built their home in Orem, Utah where they raised two daughters, Kelly and Amy. Wally was a long-haul truck driver with his father Lynn (Putter) and retired from Geneva Steele in 1985 after working 30 years. Wally had a sense of humor and infectious smile that could make an entire room fill with laughter. He had a knack for story telling with such animation you felt as if you were there. To know Wally was to love him. He never met a person he did not consider a friend. Wally was a talented mechanic. He was so proud of his 1976 Jeep Renegade in which he built and raced. He loved sharing his talents and enjoyment for racing with many friends. He spent many wonderful weekends at Strawberry Reservoir fishing and spending time with his family. He adored his grandchildren. From taking them for doughnuts to teasing them with laughter, each child knew of his love for them. He will be truly missed by his wife, daughters, sister Judy (Dick) Page, brother Keith (Patricia) Brereton, nine grandchildren, Melissa (Jason) Peterson, Zachary Wallace Douglas, Meisha Loveless, Mallory (Christian) Kendall, Gentry Norton, Seth Norton, Madison Loveless, Brisa Lujan, Beckham Lujan and two great grandchildren, Cannon and Eisley Kendall. He was preceded in death by his parents Lynn and Neva and his best friend and brother-in-law Dick Page. Graveside Services will be Friday September 22, 2017, 12 p.m. at the East Lawn Memorial Hills Cemetery, 4800 North 650 East, Provo.
