Walter Carlos da Fonseca e Silva 77 of Provo, passed away peacefully on April 11, 2018. He was born October 27, 1940 in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. He immigrated to the US in 1967 where he met and married his love Joyce Cox April 18, 1970 in Las Vegas and were recently sealed for time & all eternity in the Provo City Center LDS Temple on June 18, 2016. He is survived by his wife Joyce, two children Paul (Mary Miner) Fonseca e Silva and Lisa (Todd) Eppley. 7 grandchildren Geoffrey (Moira) Eppley, Mikel (Kalicia) Fonseca e Silva, Austin Fonseca e Silva, Christopher Eppley, Allyson Fonseca e Silva, Nathan Eppley, Kyle Fonseca e Silva, 1 great-grandson Maverik Fonseca e Silva and a brother Luiz Fonseca e Silva who lives in Brazil. He was a pipefitter by trade, but his passion was woodworking, especially his hand made fretwork personalized clocks. He loved to volunteer and spend his Wednesday at the Temple baptistry. His hobby was fishing, watching motorcycle/car races, soccer and supporting his grandchildren in everything they did. He was preceded in death by his parents Acilio and Elza (Dias) Fonseca e Silva, brothers Gerson and Acilio "Charles" Fonseca e Silva. A viewing will be held Tuesday, April 17 at the Walker Sanderson Mortuary, 85 E 300 S, Provo, and on Wednesday, April 18 from 9:30-10:30am prior to the funeral services at 11am at the Sunset 9 th Ward Chapel 1560 South 1100 West, Provo. Interment will be at the Provo City Cemetery.
