Obituary

Winona Prince Ramage, of Orem Utah, passed away on February 27, 2023 in Spanish Fork, Utah, at the age of 89 with her eternal companion by her side.

Winona was born in New Harmony, Utah on May 17, 1933 to James Reed and Laura Christina (Johnson) Prince. She was the first of four children. She grew up in New Harmony, Utah until she attended Utah State University, where she earned a bachelor's degree in education. It was at the USU that she met the love of her life, Thomas John Ramage. They were married on June 15, 1956 in the St. George, LDS, Temple.

Winona taught high school and junior high for six years at which time she stayed at home to raise her family. She used her skills as an educator often as she helped tutor and educate her children and grandchildren as well as any of Tom's football players that needed extra help.

Winona was a gifted artist and loved to paint, quilt, and do anything else creative. She loved to garden and took a lot of pride in the flowers that she grew in her yard. She touched the lives of so many people with her acts of service and kindness. You could often find an extra person living in her home that needed her special brand of love and help. She was a fabulous cook and baker. She fed the BYU football team homemade doughnuts and ice cream every week, after a win, for 30 years. The Christmas candy that she made each year was always a special treat for family and friends. She would "hide" her homemade Christmas candy right where she knew her family would find it.

Winona was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and had a strong testimony of the gospel. She never said no to a calling and served in many positions including Relief Society President, Young Women President, Scout leader and Sunday School leader. She volunteered for many years at the Missionary Training Center in Provo, Utah. She loved her time there with the missionaries and all of the special friends that she made there.

Winona is survived by her husband of 67 years, Thomas John Ramage; her children: John (Cathy) Ramage; Lorrie (Vince) Brimhall; Rochele Ramage; Sheree (Stan) Shaw; Dedra (Steven) Woodhouse; and Cory (Lindsey) Ramage; twenty-four grandchildren and twenty-five great grandchildren. She is survived by her sister Laureda (Prince) Gordon. She was preceded in death by her parents Laura and James Reed Prince and her brothers: Norman Prince and Ronald Prince.
