Obituary

Yvonne Devine Sweatfield, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away peacefully on July 6, 2024, surrounded by her loving family. She was born on September 20, 1940, in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Yvonne is survived by her devoted husband, Bobbie Sweatfield. They were married in 1990 and sealed in the Temple, marking the beginning of a beautiful and eternal journey together. Her love for Bobbie was beyond measure, and proof of their deep and unwavering bond.

Her cherished children: Sherry Giles (Eddie), Lance Devine (Cindy), Dusty Devine, Kelly Devine McKinney (Steve), and James Haskell.

She was also a loving grandmother to Tammy Woodward (Bryan), Myia Neilson, Gary Hackney, Kaitlyn Jenkins (Caleb), Kasandra Richardson (Joshua), Sam Devine (Jett), David Devine, and Deanna Devine. Yvonne delighted in her 11 great-grandchildren and 6 great-great-grandchildren.

Yvonne's life was a testament to her deep commitment to the LDS church. She sang in the church choir, her glorious voice bringing joy to all that heard her. Yvonne's faith was further demonstrated by the sacred sealing ordinances to her family that she received in the Temple. Yvonne frequently visited the Temple, participating in baptisms for the dead as an expression of her enduring spiritual dedication. Her faith sustained her family throughout her mortal life allowing them to enjoy her devotion to the Gospel and the principals she cherished.

Her life was enriched by her diverse passions and unfaltering spirit. She touched the lives of everyone she met. She lived by the philosophy, "Strangers are just friends you haven't met yet," always ready to extend a helping hand. Yvonne's kindness knew no bounds; she would gladly share a meal with those in need and offer her jacket to anyone who was cold. Yvonne's compassion extended not only to people but also to animals of all kinds. Her home was a sanctuary for numerous creatures, reflecting her deep care and empathy for all living beings.

A woman of strong convictions, Yvonne stood steadfast in her beliefs and always saw the good in others. Her optimism and kindness touched countless lives. She found joy in her diverse range of career opportunities. Through her work as a bail bondswoman, she provided crucial support to others during difficult times, her wonderful stories of being a race car driver or private detective were favorites of the grandkids. She fulfilled a lifelong dream by returning to school and earning her associate's degree in communications. This accomplishment led to opportunities as a local radio station DJ and newspaper reporter.

An accomplished artist, she found joy in a wide array of creative pursuits including drawing, painting, leatherwork, sculptures, and woodworking. Her talents extended beyond mere craftsmanship; each piece she created was a masterpiece that brought beauty and inspiration to all who knew her. Her dedication to her artistry was evident in every stroke of her brush and every detail of her creations.

Yvonne's life was a tribute to adventure, compassion, and a commitment to making a positive difference in the world. Her legacy of love and generosity will continue to inspire and uplift those who were fortunate enough to know her.

A celebration of Yvonne's remarkable life will be held on Saturday August 3, 2024, from 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM at Charleston Town Hall: 3454 West 3400 South Heber City UT 84032 There will be lots of food and great memories. Please come celebrate with us as we remember this beautiful angel.
